Scents can affect your mood, emotions, and memories. They are the fastest way to reach your mood center - which is through the limbic system of the brain.

Are there certain smells that bring back childhood memories, a past vacation or make you think of a particular person?

There is a great source for pure, natural scents to support your mood and emotions that’s simple and easy to use. That source is essential oils.

Essential oils are a fantastic way to support your mindset especially when used aromatically. What do you need more of? Joy, hope, belief, abundance, vision, gratitude, or something else? There are oil blends that have been specially formulated to invoke particular moods and emotions.

Sure there are other products that smell nice like candles, room sprays, and plug-ins. However most of them contain synthetic fragrance. These fragrances are formulated in a lab with chemicals, some of which may be harmful to your health. Companies are not required to disclose the ingredients on product labels, as the recipe is considered a trade secret.

That being said, not all essential oils are created EQUAL either. They are not regulated, so terms like therapeutic, pure, and certified organic don’t necessarily mean the oils have not been adulterated in some way. Many essential oils are derived with harsh chemicals, have been diluted, or are produced synthetically in a lab.

That’s why it’s super important for your health and safety to find a source you can trust! The ones I use are backed by a quality commitment. Read more

To get the most out of the scents of essential oils, aromatic use is the best way. Anyone can use essential oils - no aromatherapy training is needed.

Click the button below to watch a short video where I demonstrate the 3 ways to aromatically use essential oils.

How to Aromatically Use Essential Oils

  • Open a bottle and inhale the oil. Take a few deep breaths.

  • Place a drop or two in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, cup your hands over your nose and take several deep, slow breaths.

  • Put drops of oil in a diffuser. It disperses the oil molecules into the air as a fine mist.

  • Fill a spray bottle with distilled water and a small amount of witch hazel and add a few drops of oil. Spray on your pillow, clothing, into the air, or even on yourself.

Your brain cannot hold on to a memory when you are inhaling a scent. It is forced to let it go. Support a healthy mind with your sense of smell. It’s hard to move forward if your mindset isn’t right. With the right mindset almost anything is possible.
